Tuscany, Models and Magic July 21-28, 2018 wait list

Those beautiful Italians in bike shorts or stilettos have a saying…

“Where there is pleasure, there is no losing.” That is the premise behind this entire week of magic in the hills of Tuscany at our own private Villa Podernuovo. Our photographic home for the week, beautifully restored by my Italian partner, Diana Grandi, welcomes and titillates all the senses. Breakfast, along with one fabulous meal a day will be prepared by our Tuscan chef (or us in a cooking class) and accompanied by local wine of the gods from Il Paradiso di Frassina. We'll field trip there where they play music to the vines in vistas that will make you weep or become a landscape photographer. We will meander along white dusty roads, but most model sessions will be at the villa or nearby.

This will be a wonderful, private location in which to work with models 4 or 5 sessions throughout the week. The soft colors of the walls or nearby roofless Abbey San Galgano are ideal as backdrops for dancers. The light and textures within the villas are perfect for figure studies as is the swimming pool or nearby stream. The possibilities here are only limited by your creativity. Like all of my workshops, we shall work in small groups, share ideas and have plenty of local access. Model releases will be provided. Class size is limited.

When not working with models, there will be early or late light field trips to special landscapes and little villages off the tourist path. I have conducted workshops in Tuscany since 1993, and began working with Diana in this location in 1995. I love the warm connection to the people and food. This location is stress free with time to think and be creative. There will be time for laughter with locals shared over steaming cappuccino or gelato to make you smile. On a free afternoon you can just relax or venture to the nearby thermal baths, Grosseto by the sea, Siena or Florence. Another field trip to Chianti for art and wine also being planned.

Workshop includes single or shared accommodations in apartments, breakfast daily plus one other meal specially prepared each day by our Tuscan chef, wine tasting, multiple instructors and critiques. Cash/check price $3600 Companions $3000 Model/location fee $250, (ratio 3:1) Deposit $1000 to hold your space, balance due May 1. Paypal possible from my website if you use family friend option.

$250 single supplement. Sitting areas in apartments will also be used for photo shoots. Contact me if you have questions. Fly into Rome 3 hours away) , Pisa (2 hours) or Florence (1.5 hours). Rent your own car or make arrangements with me. You are responsible for airfare and getting to the location though we can provide information on trains or taxis.
